We Opened in France

We opened our plant in Commercy, France in November of 2016. This location primarily supports our carbon twisting process.

We Expanded Services and Employed More People

In 1979, the Coventry, Rhode Island division employed 150 employees running 3 shifts 7 days a week. Concordia specialized in creating Velcro fasteners, materials for space vehicles and astronauts space suits, Boeing 747 inflatable escape slides, and sails for U.S. entries in America Cup races.

We Opened Southern Division In Sevier County

In 1969, Concordia Manufacturing Company Inc. Southern Division was opened in Sevier County TN. Concordia expanded into a 100,000 square foot plant employing 92 people and producing continuous filament synthetic yarn and crimped yarns.

We Relocated

In 1964, Concordia relocated to its current location in Coventry, Rhode Island and added Saaba to its product offerings.

We Added Textured Yarn Department

In 1955, a textured yarns department was added for the manufacture of textured and modified stretch yarns in cooperation with the Leesona Corporation.

We Widened Our Services

In 1932, Concordia Manufacturing moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island and focused on twisting a winding material like nylon and Dacron for Dew Line Inflatable Buildings, inflatable safety equipment for military applications, electrical tapes, radar screening materials, as well as consumer clothing goods and narrow fabrics.

We Grow

In 2005, Concordia acquired the tissue engineering scaffold assets of Albany International Research Company, and Biofelt® was born.

We sell Concordia Medical

In March of 2011, Concordia Medical was purchased by Biomedical Structures, LLC., which is dedicated to maintaining Concordia’s tradition of quality excellence.
